Iceland

Ah, Iceland. Doesn't it look exciting?

I'm all signed up for the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon on July 12th. Plane tickets purchased, vacation days requested, obsessive compulsive trip planning at full throttle. It should be a great trip. Jeanie can't go because of her studies, but I recruited my sister, Megan, to join me. She's a sucker for going anywhere that requires a passport.

My favorite description about the course from the website is "Take extra care when going through areas of geothermal activity." Sounds like fun.

I haven't run a lick since the Rocky Raccoon 50. I'm taking at least two full weeks off to get my knee rested, but I'm thinking about taking the entire month of February. I'm learning to be a bit more patient. Yes, it's driving me a bit crazy, but I should be nice and rested for my summer races. I better be, at least.

Keep running!

Scott

PS. I lied. I've actually done a little bit of running. But I'm trying to tell myself that I'm not just to make-believe that I'm fully resting. Hee hee.

  6. Good idea to rest up. I see you tentatively have two races scheduled in my neck of the woods. Mac Forest in Oregon is a must do as well.

  9. If you run into any Sigurdsons, Edvaldsons, or Myrdal's you might just be talking to one of my relatives. Ask them if they are related to King Olaf of Ireland. It's a Saga thing...

I'm a bit envious of your trip. Let me know if you find a cheep way to fly to Iceland. I almost think it would be less expensive to fly to Paris then go to Iceland then back to Paris and home. The hotels are kind of expensive as well. You could always camp or go to a Hostel.

BTW - geothermal waters will boil a crab ready to eat in about 5 min. Watch your step pilgrim.

  10. Iceland is going to be an adventure. I'm completely envious.

When you're done with that patience thing, some it down my way. It looks like I may be in need of some.

If if if for some reason you have last minute conflict (i.e., wedding to go to that came up or something), let me know and I will take your place.
